Carry Me
Each step another accomplishment,
just one step closer to my establishment.
little by little it moves with me,
grains flip and fall I see.
thunk! I plop the weight of my heavy body down.
I feel as if the quicksand will eat me, i might drown.
the crashing of the waves on the beach,
is a sound I cannot describe nor teach.
it swallows me up and i let it take hold.
i want so much to be numbed by the cold.
i let it soothe me as it rocks back and forth,
i love that it shows me what i'm really worth.
an honest measurement of what i have become.
the brutality of it leaves my heart pounding, a drum.
it pounds hard and loud.
i feel the sensation of being naked in a crowd.
back down again to sit and cry.
all i can say is "why?"
feed me, please, give me knowledge.
tell me things i cant learn in college.
i'm listening, my ears and heart are open.
tell me, please! don't leave it unspoken.
