Carve it in ignorance ...

Ecclesiastes 1:9

9 That which has been is what will be,
That which is done is what will be done,
And there is nothing new under the sun.

Then carve it in ignorance …

What if my ink is gone ... what if I run out of paper?

Where will I place my thoughts in a memory close to vapor?

Life and death surround me ... where now is comfort found?

When the last breath approaches and pain hangs around?

Has ignorance dulled us ... as we slide slowly through life?

Do we even notice creation’s living ... and its sacrifice?

Even in a slaughter house where death seems to rule the day

Very few in my realm realize ... the sacrifice for us is made

Maybe all is done ... existence through death lives on

Maybe that is the purpose ... of all things gone wrong

Maybe out of paper and with no ink left to write

Makes what’s written till now ... a call for living right
