Carved in Smiles
Wake up, get dressed, everyday it's the same
Just another player in the game.
Which mask do I put on?
Which keeps me out of the wrong?
A tiring process a horrible trite
But sometimes you have to when all you do is cry at night.
Parents don't understand
Few truly can.
Just another teen loss in the crowd
The voices want to be heard, want to scream out loud.
While buried six feet under
I notice I've made a terrible blunder.
No one can see me, and I can't see them.
One way mirror one for each of us.
So many sewn lips.
So many terrible secrets.
It's an illness it's a disease of the mind
We're all running on borrowed time.
The walls are coming down
Salvation can't be found.
Bright colors fade off your mask.
Too close, they're going to find out.
What the masks are all about.
Forget the masks from now on
...I think I'll carve my smile on.
