In Case I Don't See You
Andrea Lehman
In Case I Don’t See You
“I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox
and which
you were probably
saving
for breakfast
Forgive me
They were delicious
So sweet
And so cold”
To: You
Day after day,
years after years,
what were once our dreams
have turned into our reality.
Although our bodies have
changed and aged,
our love remains to be the same
calm breeze in my soul as it began.
Although our days are spent
less with each other, and more
caught up in responsibility
My love for you remains the same.
When our time together is delayed
or we miss each other leaving for the day,
Just think of these memos
As love notes
From: Me.
