Casted Shadow

Close the door so only the darkness enters

Each second constantly bouncing in my head that

Only casts the shadow of my biggest fears

Repetitive intrusive thoughts running by saying,

“slice away and pain will no longer come to play”

Perhaps a good day will appear just ahead

Maybe the world will suddenly stop and

Please my needs that this shadow

Has created and is only closing up

On me with each direction I look

I see light once more

Not the kind that blinds you

Or dims as you reach for it

The kind of light that stays with you

For a while till you hear your heart tick

The kind of light that makes your eyes glisten

The kind of light that wraps comfort around you

It's you

You are your own light that has been burned out

Only that you have yet not found the courage to beat the darkness

But now it’s you who has the enchanting soul

And will pick up each piece up together and

No longer fall behind the casted shadow
