Castle

Looking out as far as one can see

The scapes and sights soak in.

With silent thoughts

And a gentle breeze

I look out at the world

My eyes are wide

As the world goes thundering by

But up here the day is slow

A glance around,

A minute gone.

With a deep breath of windy air

A moment where my eyes are shut,

And I see all I've ever known

Floating around me.

Each day brings forth new challenges

And each day I face them strong,

But up here is different

I am guarded

Protected and alone

Safe to be myself

A castle can be many things,

Mine is here, sitting on my bed with nothing but paper and pen.
