Casual Drills

I love playing games in physical education class. Today it's soccer practice, in teams of four or five. I stand in front, facing the other guy in the middle. When we start the game, I don't move an inch. He brings the ball to me, and I take a single step. With the sweep of my leg, the ball goes behind him. He is surprised, and I point to where the ball is now. I wait for him to come back with it, and we begin again. Three times I do this, then another person takes their turns. I'm expecting the third person to pop the ball over my foot. When it's his turn, he does this, and I can only smile. My game is over in that instant, and it's now my turn to switch out. Maybe he'd do it again sometime, and let me practice my counter.

I've got a little poem book I've been working on since I was about 17 or 18, and one day I hope to make it into a book. I only add to it occasionally though.

I actually am never going to be able to meet this guy again, but he' a fun guy--I've known him since the first grade, (which is longer than any of my best lady friends) and never have I ever had a single full conversation with him. I think now, he' doing well. Right on, man!
