Catastrophic us.

As my steps walk deep into the icy, hollow, razed dusk,

every piece of me dissolves in this ceaseless dark.

The night is mine,

I’ve fought for it, I’ve shed my tears for it.

And now when I own this night, so cold so fierce,

I don’t possess your warmth,

the warmth to keep the beating icicles in my heart sweltering.

For when all I’ve felt are frozen fractals,

attached to me,

gifting a crown I owe for triumphing the night,

still I long for your soothing tenderness.

But darling,

you are the King but you’ll watch the Queen conquer.

Conquering the kingdom of moaning storms.

I, a savage Regina of the glowing snow and you a breezeless Monarch of the lost warmth.

You are the core amidst the flames which I can never embrace,

to turn this cold-hearted spirit into a warm breath.

You are the undarkened day and I the lightless night,

one after another but never together.
