Catch the 22

Where I would give all of me
there is but phantoms to be seen.

All that shows a sheen of hope
only knows
it has potential.

Yet, all that is its basis- elemental
Is not there.

Is it a matter of giving up?
Fearful that to give slack
means all is messed up?

Or the desire to start anew,
Should that be a sign that
it is
