The Caterpillar

When i was a cterpillar i was

Always under a tree

Looking at the others.

They wouldnt talk to me just because;

I was different.

I always wondered

Howit would be

to be the same as everyone else.

They would alway ask me:

Why am i so different? and

Why cant i be the same as them?

But others said:

I was special and that they would accept me

for who i am.

I started walking slower and slower

My friend was the same way, never saw her

again.

It all started when we were

racng to the top of the flower

I would always win.

She wanted to stay in a leaf for the night.

It was getting late so i had to go.

The next day;

I went to the leaf i

left her in.

I never saw her again.

As the days passd i would get

slower and slower.

I had to stop in a leaf.

I couldnt anymore.

Couldnt walk at all.

So then i fell asleep.

When i woke up, I fet different.

I had wings.

I could fly.

I fnally felt as if i were the same.

Even though i was already special.

I've never read anything from the perspective of a butterfly, this was quite a special poem. It seems as if both you and your friend go into cacoons at different times? If so that's fantastic. The poem is lighthearted and whimsical yet still speaks of life in a meaningful way. Thank you for writing!
