Take a picture, write your description

Explore the app and wait a while

As you hope someone will see your picture

You search the pretty face

Search for a new relationship

You start to quicken your pace

Cause each girl isn’t enough

Then you see it pass on by

A beauty beyond compare

Trying not to deny

Such a girl exists

You scroll up and now can see

Your eyes did not trick you at all

A woman, as beautiful as can be

Single and ready to date

You click the profile with the speed of light

Write a text and wait

To see if she’ll reply that night

And give you a chance

Almost immediately, a text message pops up

It’s her! She says hi and you connect

Then a question follows-up

A strange one at that

She asks, “Am I pretty?”

With hesitation, you say yes

She then replies, “I’m in the city,

So why don’t we meet.”

Quick, but alright

You wanted to meet too

It would be quite a site

To see her in person

“Alright, let’s meet at lunch.”

She replies, “No, let’s meet tonight.”

Your face starts to scrunch

As you ask yourself, “Why now?”

Red flags started to raise,

But her face was irresistible

As your gut went ablazed

You answered, “Sure, why not?”

She sent you the address

One you didn’t recognize

You jumped in the car, as you tried to repress

The fear you felt towards her

You find yourself in an alleyway

The fear rising every second

As you see a shadow make its way

Right towards you

As your vision adjust

You see the familiar and soft eyes

The reasons why you lost trust

Are then all forgotten

A lump then forms in your throat,

As you see her peculiar outfit;

A mask and trench coat.

Why is she covering up her face?

The silence breaks as she starts to talk,

Her voice rough and cackly.

She asks a question that causes a shock,

“Am I pretty?”

She then peels back the mask

Revealing her sliced mouth

And continues to ask

Repeating her question mockingly

The body was discovered

A jagged sliced smile that reached from ear to ear

The killer still not uncovered

Causing fear and awe in everyone

So be careful when dating online

For you never truly know who you’re talking to

Because the woman who may seem refine

May be the slit mouth woman, Kuchisake-onna
