Catharsis

You see, this is my catharsis My dawning of a new genesis For I have re-written the words I’m sorry to those who worship the lords But I cannot sit by And wait for another reason to cry Because I’m done waiting for a moment of peace With the chaos and confusion of every single week You cannot make me here or there For I am everywhere And I am not home because you are not And I don’t care because it is too damn hot To deal I can’t feel So instead of waiting on you to finish that email I have decided it is my time to be the one to bail To be rebellious You tell me I don’t know what hell is But I think your fiery stare Is your soul to bare And I have seen hell because I have felt the flames Of inconsequential meetings and all your games And it is not that you left, because everyone does I just wish you hadn't forgotten where you'd come from And you have this preposterous notion That I am born to follow your each and every motion But just because you raised me Does not mean you can be the one to cage me So I’m stopping the fight Because you have no right To tell me what is right and wrong When you don’t sing that song So step back please and allow me to pass I’m running this race even if I come in last Trying to keep my sanity If only to stay in reality A protrusion Into my mind, we can’t ignore this delusion That we’re more than two strangers And this lie that we’ve built ourselves is in danger Of blowing up in our faces We have to get back to the basics You tell me this over and over again But I can’t look at you when you’re shaking your head In disapproval Removal From the situation Because your anticipation Gets in the way of something real So you give me nothing but my meal And you think that’s enough But this is getting too tough And I keep trying to mount this wall But I get nowhere because I’m afraid I’ll fall So yes, this is my goddamn catharsis It’s the only way I’ll ever get over this Forgive me father for I have sinned Bless me now so my new life can begin
