Catharsis
Fingers interwoven, everything dark except the faint glow of the tv. "I'm sorry if i've hurt you." We both say. I hold your hand tighter. "I only want what's best for you, even if it's not me." I say. I don't deserve your apologies, i think. You pull me in, i hug you so tight i feel some of my broken pieces fall back into place. "I love you." you say. I want to cry. I don't. I know you will. Not for me. "I love you." I answer. I wish i had asked you to stay. But i don't. I sleep alone for the billionth night, thinking of you for the billionth time. I don't have a nightmare for the 1st night in a while.
