Cats

Why are cats not loved the same as humans?

Is it because they are small and furry?

They do not judge us based on our actions,

Yet we abandon them in a hurry.

I was put here on earth to protect them.

For when I was heavy with pain and strife,

Soft, gentle paws disrupted my mayhem.

They are the one job that may change my life.

I want to create a place for my cats,

Give a loving home when no one else will.

Make them happy and healthy, and then that’s

When I can relax. When I’ve had my fill.

Give me cats young, healthy, old, sick, and tired.

I’ll care for them until I’m retired.
