A Cautionary Tale

Bottled up, unreleased

The rage contained, now increased

A boxed-up soul, barred away

Emotions felt, but never stray

Hesitate, and bottle again

Feelings now to refrain

Hold a thought, leave unsaid

Another question laid to bed

Cage the monster, feed the beast

Wait until the passions release

The blast leaves in its wake

Another soul now to take

The way you presented this was very strong. I felt the energy behind each word almost like the heavy breath that comes with anger and pain.

I enjoyed the rhythm of your poem (for example: "BOTTled UP UNreLEASED" or "CAGE the MONster, FEED the BEAST"), this is very effective when memorizing, reading, especially performing a poem. There are certain parts where this is not the case, but since this is Slam, you can slow the speed of your performance (or quicken it) in order to convey the message. Charming piece. Q.V.
