Ceiling.

I remeber our phone calls most summer nights.

We were two young kids infatuated by the thought of each other.

We would talk about nothing but everything at the same time.

I used to write our words on the ceiling,

And when I got scared I would read them to reassure me "it's all going to be okay".

Looking up at the ceiling now,

I'm reading the words but they're too far gone.

I've sunk to a new low and I can't reach the ceiling to feel your words anymore.

All I can do is lay restless on my bed reading the words on the ceiling

Hoping one day to feel them caress me again.
