cells

I slipped into the cracks between my fingertips The cells there were large and vast It’s somewhere between there And the cold hard pavement I walk A fine line A line that’s fine Ever so fine Between the real and the imagined From the ring on my finger To the insect crawling on my shirt From the pressing of a hand against my arm To the calling of my name from outside the window The man in black waits for me La Premiere has gone away on a trip, Leaving me alone here to battle my inner demons Don’t forget the ones one the outside as well So inside my cells, I am fractured Splintered, shattered Shrinking away Gone from here and soon I will disappear.
