Cement

Lifeless— on the black cracked cement

The grey begins to show

Like you are— grey and lifeless

How could you be so unaware of the death that roars on the cement

How could you not know they would end you—

They have definitely ended you

Lifeless like I, blue as a knight

Just like me, you lay on the cold rumble

Breathless, motionless—

I stare hoping, praying, crying

That you would open your eyes for me.

Please open them for them.

I sit to nothing– wait for nothing

You don’t come back

Cold eyes turn black—no longer filled with light

You become merged with the cement

I stare hoping, but no longer crying–

I knew you were never coming back.
