Censored

Retreating inside our murky lives, Behind harsh lies we live and hide. Out of despair and pain we climb. Happiness, sadness, fear, hatred: All are pined. We accept our enemies as our friends. We kill our true selves, And it never ends. We’re forced to hug and hold and cherish, Taught to mourn what’s come— And perished. So we mourn ourselves: The truth, The wrong. The things we felt are here— Yet gone. Forged with earth, hope, and desire, Neutrality replaces fire. Humanity loses the war of life, Succumbs to useless, breaking strife. We long to win but live to fail. Unseeing hands— Can’t lift the veil. We are the liquid of the world: Having definite volumes, Taking the shape of the mold. Authored before we even begin, Bound within society’s skin. Charged with power and sometimes rage We break free, Escape the cage. It is here and now we see the light Before we’re quelled by what’s deemed right. Some are vanquished, a valiant few. Some move on— Subdued. Still some succeed in molds unbroken To live life with truths spoken. All will come and all will go Changing people— And the censorships they know.
