"center stage"

I've learned how to identify a counterfeit heart

It's from the start when they say "hey we're going to be okay"

that's why you ignored my invitation to stay

you can't sway me after I've learned

you can't phase me after what I've heard

don't come back after all that wasted time

you're the dime that inspired this rhyme

that's the closest you'll get to me

You taught me to not rely on you ironically

you took your shots and you are on the run and go

the healing process was painful and slow but it just goes to show

you've taught me more on the way out than your time here

so when i reach center stage as a sage with age

i hope you aren't the birds i hear cherping

the people i hear roaring but i hope you are the lesson i keep calling
