Ceramic Flesh

Our bodies were born from mud

Knotted with veins

Holding our form against the flood

Our rusted crimson clay lips

Wet with saliva

Glazed in silica chapstick

Our flesh was scored by each others

Porcelain teeth

And fired under the covers
