A Certain Lieutenant

A narrow band

that’s full of holes

Through this I channel my energy

Long and stretched it waits for me

(sitting within, perhaps)

Sitting innocently with an evil glow

I am its keeper and its watcher

I am victim to its accessibility

Through this I measure my power

and deliver it, for my pleasure.

The empty spaces, they thrive uselessly

loneliness

And as my body hungers and feeds --

like the ebb and flow of life

in the desolate places of this world --

My companion draws on a sweeter nectar

My companion is not stoic it is not vague

-- it lingers, though.

So consider the whisper of romance, and

the taste of milk.

My companion does not generate

and it does not extend

Power --

pure and swift is taken,

delivered, absorbed, and

spent.
