Certainty under Scrutiny
I don't know
I really don't know
I'm pulled apart
With a wishbone heart
Strained, drained and out of frame
Conflicted and confused
Of what I am to do
I run a length course
With anxiety for recourse
These double yellow lines
Make me still as a pine
I breath in the synthetic AC
As I worry about being PC
Sandwiched and seized
I try to hit an outside 3
Watched by the world
As I try to strike a cord
Where is the more?
And what is it all for?
My core feels a twist
As I fall into the abyss
We wish upon a star
When most aren't even up to par
I scream where is my destiny ?
As I try finding the rest of me
My soul sharply sounds
As ambiguity all surrounds
Overwhelmed is me
Like a dingy on the raging sea
Romantic I wished to roam
Never feeling the alone
Social since the sea
I still walk with anxiety
I cross the road
As I travel with these nodes
Ravaged by myself
forgetting to love yourself
Sympathizers surround the
Despite the blind me
I just care so much
Yet I struggle with my touch
Apathy was never close to me
As I submit my supreme plea
With the grace of dove
I wish to love
Love, love, love, will set me free
For that is all I have to be marquis
I know I'm a fixer upper
But all I hope is to gain a plate at supper
For love empathy and peace
Is where I find my masterpiece
Transformed by faith
I see my future wraith
I may be chasing a car
But do you know who you are
Rah, rah the crowds collude
Although they are unable to conclude
They tell us who we are
As though fated by the stars
They don't care!
They only damage without repair
Do not dine on the world's lies
Instead rise, with the bread that doesn't die
Live each day with an existential high
Finding your meaningful spot in the sky
I don't always know what reality is
And I'm not a grandfathered wiz
But in faith truth I find
And rests gently on my mind
