Chè

In a crystal clear ocean of coconut juice,

The basil seeds doted the landscape

Like tiny black islands.

They are mixed with sugarcane and longan trees

Reaching together for the sun

That’s as yellow and sweet as the jackfruit.

Together they are a tropical paradise

In a $5 dollar cup

Called chè

That can turn my frown

Upside down.
