Chain gang

You wanted to be about that chain gang life

When they claimed you

chained you changed yo name

You just set yourself back centuries

Ancestors turning over in their graves

Like Lord why did I die for them

They wearing the same chains I died in

Now you I ain't about this life like they were

But damn they ain't have a choice

They were born in chains and died wearing them

Like damn I gotta choice on how to live my life

If I wanna hang with the sisters and brothers on the block

Or be one of the sisters and brothers in the cell block

Are sisters and brothers on the block really down for me like they say they are

Now it got me like shit

If shit go down again my girl can't take the rap for me again

My little girl gone grow up with her daddy and momma on her side

Because we not about to become another statistic
