Chained Freedom
Faith has always helped guide me along
during the times I was not very strong.
I questioned and doubted all that I did
because I was measured as only a kid.
My beliefs were pushed and tested on a daily basis
inside my own household, my customed oasis
If i could not project my own ideas for my spirit
I would keep to myself so no one could hear it
Feeling blind and powerless I went with the waves
until I was lost beneath the bottomless caves
within my own mind, I was my own adversary
trapped by confusion I was a silent canary
Why did my faith need to be aligned in such a way
that altered my path to slowly decay
I look to religion as a form of revival
to open my mind and fight for survival
The way I see it, all religions possess the same core
to become better people than we were before.
