Champion
Seeing you from afar
Wondering where I can get to where you are
Or how I can steal your heart
(Better yet, win it, perhaps?)
Looking at your chocolate tone
And my thoughts of getting you alone
But I’m not trying to get too grown
(Not yet, anyway)
I see all of the qualities that you possess
And I can’t seem to fathom or stress
How one may become blessed
To have someone like you to call their “champion”
You see, when I use the term “champion”
I see someone who has overcome
I see someone who has beat the odds but has never succumb
When I look into your eyes
I see someone who realize
That even after a million tries
You smile when it seems so easy to cry
Oh, I definitely see that in you, Champion
I see that and so much more of what you can become
There are possibilities galore
And this battle will be won
I’m constantly seeing someone
Whose child I want to carry
Give my all to and someday marry
Because as I see you play this game called “Life”
I’m screaming from the crowd “Go Champ! Fight!”
I see you striving for excellence and accepting none other
You’re the opposite of society’s stereotype of a “brother”
You continue to break and demolish the mold
All while maintaining a heart of gold
Oh, but “champion” you got me sold
So many opportunities that are ready to unfold
For you
I see what you do
I admire your skills and abilities
Wondering if I’m doing what is needed to be
To have a champ like you to even look at me
And grant me with your attention
Until then I see you play your position…
My champion…
