Chance for a Do Over

In the morning I could pack a bag

and jump on a freight train

  headed for Tallahassee.

Tomorrow I could buy a Greyhound ticket

to rural Washington state.

This weekend I could use my student loans

to fly to Holland

to start my new life as a Dutch teacher.

In order to realize why I refrain

I have to propose the idea of up and leaving to myself.

"But I have to finish my degree"

"But my girlfriend lives here."

"But..."

Nothing.

My girlfriend and job keep me here.

They could be lost in an instant.

The restraint is worth the risks.

I used to have an account under the name "The Frozen Arsonist" when I was a teenager and just wanted to start over, but you can check that out if you want to see earlier content
