A Chance to Take
I was screaming and no one could hear me
No one ever bothered to turn around and ask, “Hey what’s wrong?”
I screamed louder and my own ears grew numb
My veins bulged, eyes grew wet and red, and my bones shook all over
I laid in my tears, curled into a ball
Feeling hopeless, tired, and alone
I was still screaming when I saw you
And you had seen me too
You smiled faintly and said you wanted to lend a hand
I told you that you must be insane
And there was no point in wasting your time on someone who was dead
You reminded me that I still had a chance
And all I had to do was breathe, to just live again
