The Change

When can I get over it; If I am in this dark pit; I dream of standing free; But now I know there is always a fee. This pit I’m in will go away; But how much more will I have to pay; When can I see the light; When will it get to that height. There is only one thing I can see; The dark that surrounds me; That loss that forces the hope; That I can sit here and mope. When will I get my freedom; Where will it come from; How will this battle go; When I fall down low. I need to stand tall; Then I know I cannot fall; Maybe it is time to fight; I need to start for the light. Standing ready to battle this pit; Hoping and praying I will be rid of it; Fighting is the one and only way; I am standing here ready to pay. I know I am getting higher; I have gained my own fire; I will climb and climb till I hit the top; I will never truly and utterly stop. I usually try and run from you: Now I stand among the few; I am holding my own ground; I am proud of what I found. I am not at the bottom anymore; No, this pit will not haunt me to the core; Now I am high enough to see that light; Only one thing left to do and that is fight.
