Change

If I could change anything, I would change everything...

Everything that goes on within myself.

I would let go of the past, I would hold onto the good,

I would laugh a little more than I should.

I wouldn't compare myself to things I cannot be,

I would be satisfied just being me.

I would be my own friend, not my worst enemy,

Everything locked in my heart would be set free.

Tears would fall only from joy,

I would be more confident when making a choice.

Oh the things that I would change,

If only life could work that way.

It would not be a battle for me to love everyone,

Regardless of the things they may have done.

I would learn to love myself and all my flaws,

My envy for others would be long gone.

The war between my mind and my heart,

For once would be settled, nevermore to restart.

I would look at the things that could always go right,

Rather than the things that could ruin my life.

A relationship for me would be much more,

Than fear and memories of things before.

Nobody could rob me of the things I hold dear,

Not one negative word would cross my ears.

If I could change just one thing..

I'd change nothing less than everything.
