CHANGE

Thinking of the children
What do we think about?
Their dark, starry roof?
The torn rusty plates?
They can't see change

The broken voice,
It smiles.
We don't see the pain,
For we are blind
This needs to change

The pitter-patter of shoeless feet
We look down at you
Skinny-boned children
Searching for a solution
They don't find change

Weeps of the homeless,
Clinging of the pennies in their cup.
Asking for shelter,
Change.
But no change is given

Sounds of guns and of wars
The feel of death and sadness
With no sign of change
Maybe
Just maybe we could change!
