Change

This world once was beautiful

Now it is but a corrupted form

Of what it once was.

In ancient times the people we Discriminate

Were revered

Were celebrated

Now in this cruel, cold deseliate place

They hide in the shadows

Afraid to come out

Of the shell,

The shell you call so many names

This world needs change

Without it our world will be coated in blood

Blood filled with hatred for the love

One chooses not to accept

All love is special

All love should be cherished

This world once shone with love

With beauty and acceptance

Now people quake with fear,

As if the love of two men or women

Was an earthquake and not

Something everyone can experience

It is not whom you love;

It is simply the feeling of it.

This world cannot live

In darkness forever

These phobias

Are merely excuses.

It is not contagious

It is not unnatural

We grew up to believe

That everyone should be accepted

For who they are, on the inside and not the outside

Then we are told when we grow,

That we cannot accept certain people.

We live in a hypocritic world

Where the truth

Becomes muddled

Where lies turn bloody

The blood runs thick

On our golden roads

We live in bubbles

Where we decide

To ignore the imperfections

the cruelities of man

We are a violent race

We are a bigoted race

We are no different than the most

Savage beast

Yet we hold ourselves on the highest
pedestial

We are animals

We destroy ourselves to protect what we
think is right

We destroy others who do not agree with us

Who do not fit in.

We tease

We fight

We kill

We die

We choose favorites

And dismiss all the others

We are animals through and through

We also need change

We need to evolve

We need to adapt

We need to learn to love again

We need Change.

Change is a wonderous thing

It allows for a rebirth

A Renaissance of morals

Let's begin a Renaissance of our own

Let's be like Botticelli,

Donatello

Masaccio

Da Vinci

Let's all be Renaissance men and women

Let's extend the olive brance

Let's change

Let's try to repair the wounds

This society has inflicted.

For some this Renaissance is too late

And for that, I'm sorry.
