Change

Every day,

People suffer.

They put on those fake smiles,

pretending everything is alright.

But in reality,

it's not,

Do we know that?

They could be teased, maybe bullied.

Then they go home:

to an abusive parent,

little food,

maybe a family who screams

and fights

and yells

every day.

For all we know, they may not even have a home.

Suffer silently by day,

but at night, cry in the shower.

Their cries drowned out,

washed away

by the water.

They think they shouldn't tell,

and every day,

they go to school,

hoping,

dreaming,

someone notices

that something

is wrong.

Still, they cry

and dream

and hope

every day.

In the end,

all they wabt

is change.
