When he said “I love you”

I knew he didn’t mean it.

Sexual desires was not love,

And that's all he wanted was my white gift.

I had to run from this boy or I knew my life would be gone.

I changed my ways and never was truly the same.

The fear struck my body and love did not exist from that point on.

That was, until I met Tarrin.

He became a close friend of mine that I never expected anything more

Than respect and honesty.

We fought, we disagreed, we even saved bees.

Then he showed his true feelings for me.

Being cut off the way I was I made him wait.

I told him no but he is a persistent thing.

This went on for months and months and slowly, my heart began to warm up.

I know i’m young but we have experienced true love.

There isn’t anything in this world, we wouldn’t sacrifice for each other.

I respect him more than any father, and we make time for school, friends, and each other.

Communication and trust is always important to us.

We talk through things and we know we can overcome anything.

My life has changed since that fateful night when that boy tried to take my life.

Now I will always be strong, as long as Tarrin is riding along.
