Change
Change is a fluid creature
Hating to be tied down
By the ropes of commitment
And the chains of stability
Wanting to freely rome
The cities of our lives
The back alleys of our mind
Is where change really thrives
Feeding off of our uncertainties
And our dreams for better things
That can only be achieved
Through the perilous risk of change
Change is an inevitability
That one hopes to avoid
Because change means leaving
A tiny shard of yourself behind
In return for a mystery reward
Or a uncertain punishment
No one like leaving behind a piece of them
It is like leaving behind a family heirloom
Something that is part of your past
Something that could tell your story
Because if we can’t spread our tale
Then who is to say we were ever here
Change is a driving force
It moves the plot of your story forward
Makes people remember us
A thousand years from now
Because although it is your story
Someone else will be the most interesting character
It can be like a racecar
Lightning quick with slick wheels
But more often than not
Change is like the family minivan
An old and familiar presence
Something that is slow but reliable
Change preys on the weak
That is a scary realization
Since I myself am so frail and weak
But could change really be that bad?
Once you have hit the bottom
Can’t you only change for the better?
Maybe change only attacks those who think they are weak
Maybe change is a kind character
Lifting up those who need to be lifted up
And putting down the heartless animals of this world
Maybe change works hand and hand
With the famed fate and courageous karma
