Change

I watched from inside

Sitting and staring from afar

Observing them all dried,

My what colors they are!

Swaying and twirling in the gust,

Studying them is a must.

Always changing with the season

Just like others,

With no fine reason.

When I think I found another

They “whoosh” away,

And leave me all stray.

Yellow, green, orange, and red

Changing minds like the leaves

Always leaving me feeling nothing but dread.

Telling them they are undeceived,

Causes much grief

As someone has to be there to pick up the leafs.

I step back a bit

And watch the last one fall.

It had to be quits,

Why there is nothing else to do but bawl.

All the colors represent something

But they are absolutely nothing.
