Change

When life seems

To be going well

But then you find

It's about to just

Change.

Well

Then it's not so well

It's not so swell

Because it changed.

And that change hits the heart

With a hurt that can not

Be easily

Healed.

However,

The healing comes

As you realize that the change

Did not ruin your whole life.

Did not destroy your future.

Did not smash your heart fully.

Because all it was

Was change.

And though you thought

That your life

Was ruined

Was destroyed

Was smashed,

It was merely

Changed.

And you look at your life

Years later,

And you're thankful.

Thankful for the change that broke your heart.

Thankful for the change that you thought ruined your life.

Thankful for the hurt.

Because the change made you stronger.

It revealed parts of yourself that you didn't realize

Were there.

It formed a new path

For a new future.

A new person

For a new plan.

Or rather an old plan

That you didn't realize would be

Until it happened.

And you're thankful.
