change

If I would have kept my mouth shut

Sewn it together with needle and thread

Tied a chain and locked it with a broken key

Then maybe things wouldn’t have had to change

If my mind could have been changed

Reprogrammed to love someone else

Hypnotized not to feel

Tricked into thinking straight

Then maybe things wouldn’t have had to change

If my eyes never saw your face

Blurred and fuzzy

Like they are now because of my tears

Blind and glazed over

Never to know who you were

Then maybe things wouldn’t have had to change
