Change
Change is good
Change is bad
Change will cause me to go mad
The future is uncertain
But the past is too
Is time moving too fast or so slow
Until we reach the future we never know
What we should’ve grasped
The things that turned out right
The future is a tricky thing
We never know what it will bring
So we grasp for control
But we don’t know
Rome, Greece, London, St. Petersburg
All places I’ve never been,
Things I think (hope) the future holds
But the future has other plans
I don’t know
Because the present is what makes the future so
The present
The place where we’re supposed to live
But I live somewhere else
I live in terror, worry, fear
Past and future live right here
And I sit in the middle
Trying to change
Or wondering if I should
Trying to figure out
What I can do to make the future bright
And making it so the mistakes of the past are not repeated
Trying to figure out
What changes need to be made
Then suddenly
The present is the past
The future is the now
And I’m still trapped
Trying to figure out change
Change is good
Change is bad
Change is making me go mad
