Change in Education

    You ask me
What I would change
If I could.
Though this seems very open ended
The answer to me is right in front of my eyes.
When we are kids, we learn
“Red fish, blue fish, one fish two fish”
However different you may be, you are special.
The irony in this idea, is that at the same place they bore this into our brains,
We learn that we are stupid if we don’t get the ‘A’
We aren’t as good as our neighbor if we don’t get the same grade in science
Even though in Art we got the best in the class;
Being different in a society that promotes uniformity
Being one in a million in our state
Can be detrimental to our state of mind.
Why is it that
We are told
“You have to go to college”
Yet a government that can’t afford it drowns us in student loans?
We live in a society that promotes uniformity,
And I will not stay in uniform.

You ask me, <b>What I would change, <b> If I could.<b> Though this seems very open ended, <b>The answer is right infront of my eyes.<b> When we are kids we learn, <b>"One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish",<b> However different you may be, you are special. <b> The irony in this idea, <b> is that the same place that bores this into our brains <b> Makes us believe that we are stupid if we don't get that 'A', <b> We are not as good as the neighbor boy because he got a beter grade on the science test <b> Even though we got the best in the class in art. <b> Being different in a society that promotes uniformity <b> Being one in a million in our state <b> Can be detrimental to our state of mind <b> Why is it that <b> We are told <b> "You have to go to college" <b> Yet a government that can't afford it <b> Drowns us in student loans?<b>We live in a society that promotes uniformity, <b> And I will not stay in uniform.

Even though in Art we got the best in the class;
