Change of the Eyes
If there's one thing I'd change
It'd be a change of the eyes
Because I find it so strange
That because of the size of a girl's thighs
A boy could walk up to her and say,
"You're fat."
And she, as a woman, would have to chalk it up as another day
To swallow her pride and scuttle off like a rat.
Or the fact, that a man can't walk with his boyfriend down the street
Without hearing someone yell,
"Fag!" From the safety of his car seat.
Or tell a woman, who doesn't want her baby, that she's going to hell.
It sicken my stomach to hear
That 160,000 kids stayed home to avoid getting bullied at school
And at least 4,400 of those kids killed themselves last year
All anybody will say is "Kids are cruel."
If there's one thing I'd change
It'd be a change of the eyes
Because I find it so strange
That we can't see the lies
That Society has put in front of we
And no one realizes
We are already who we're meant to be
There is no need to brutalize
Because if you changed your eyes you'd see:
All of them are People
Just like You and Me
That can be good and can be awful
If there's one thing I'd change this year
I'd change the way we look at each other, underneath this one atmosphere.
