A Change in Me
Look at my hands, they are incomplete.
Not because of you, but because of me.
Look at my feet, they will not budge.
Not because of you, but because I am afraid.
Where will I go? And what will I say?
What is there that I can bring today?
Looking past fear, looking farther than I have ever gone before.
Is there something inside of me that has the words to say?
The words to say...
I want to be somebody. Somebody to touch the world, in such a way..
To touch hearts and to see them forever changed, To see them healed.
How I wish my smile could interact past fear.
I wish that I had Courage beyond compare.
They’d say, “Look! The Guardian who only ever cares.”
I want to protect and show the lost they are found.
Go past my fears, break past my insecurities. To be unbound.
The words to say, You are.
You are someone who Is more Precious than gold, More Sacred than words.
Because I see broken children, Lonely souls,
Hurting people with empty holes.
The words to say..
I Need these words to say..
I am not afraid.
Without fear, Can’t you see me now?
Looking at crowds that were never supposed to matter, but they do now.
I want to touch their every hearts.
And if I could believe in me,
But change my heart of me,
Then maybe we could be, a little bit More free.
So I could sing to you something,
Something you’ve never heard quite like this before.
I want to break this barrier,
So that all could see that…That one broke free.
Something we were taught was unattainable,
Is something we actually need to be.
This sacred, change in me.
