change my name.

She was a rebellious soul, that couldn't wait to break free.

Strongly influenced by the world that she saw on the TV screen.

Where the woman had the perfect bodies, that men seemed to gravitate to.

Glancing at her refection in the mirror, telling herself "baby girl that ain't you."

Skinny dark-skinned girl who felt she had nothing to offer.

Who thought that giving her body away was equivant to love, because nobody ever taught her...

otherwise.

She probably wouldn't have turned out the way that she did.

Maybe there'd be no closet full of skeletons that she hid.

Because you know she never told anyone about what happened in that room.

Not one soul was aware that her innocence was robbed too soon.

But, the Lord always knew, because He sits HIGH and looks LOW.

The only One that has the ability to reach down into the deepest pit and rescue any soul He chooses to.

That means me.

That means YOU.

When the Lord introduces us to light, darkness disappears.

When he introduces us to faith, we are no longer enslaved by our fears.

No longer bound to our past, instead we can brush our shoulders off and NEVER look back.

From here on out we are different, our identity has changed.

Christ washed us in His blood, and gave us a new name.
