Change Starts With A Smile

Change happens every day

It can be good or it could just be another challenge you have to face

Be it good or be it bad

Whatever it may, change happens

And it happens every day

If I could change even just one thing

I could change my hair, my face, or even my shape

But why waste change with things that are fate

So instead I would think long and hard

Deep down to find something special to change

Only if I could change one thing

After thinking a lot I would know just what to do

I would start with myself

I would start with my attitude

Smile much more and say polite things

Because it starts with me so that’s what I’ll do

Stop and talk to a stranger

Give a little more of a tip to a waitress

Stand on the subway so someone else could have a seat

Yes I know I would be much happier

And maybe those strangers would leave happier too

For you see the truth about change

Sure it could go either way

But if you look deep inside

You know it is true

Change brings out the truth, the truth in you

So I would change for the better

Then maybe others would see

Maybe they would join in on this kindness train

Because one happy person could lead to another

And from there maybe the whole world could change for the better
