The Change The World Needs

We consider ourselves the smartest species on earth,

we have the power to save, preserve, and create,

then why do we destroy, pollute, and exterminate?

Human advancement means nothing when the majority of the world lives in poverty,

when there are people dying simply because they don't have the money to pay for what 1% of the world can.

We fight for what was never ours,

we kill each other, hate each other, and envy each other

instead of standing together and changing the world.

Seven billion people united can change the world,

provide for each other, help each other-

so why do seven billion people fall divided,

why do we destroy each other for power?

The change starts with us,

and even though I'm just one, I can change the path one individual is walking.

then they can change the path another is walking,

until the world is walking the path of change,

and we can proudly say that we were a race who made mistakes, but improved with age,
