Change the World, to Save the World
Older than our comprehension,
bold she stands,
in silent reflection.
For the very race that she has raised,
in the face of odds and innumerable days,
to rule above all the rest,
and put the laws of science to the test.
Has decided in its myopia,
to rip and rend from the cornucopia,
all that she provides.
With greed and lust,
we dug our mines,
stole from her all we could find.
Leveled forests to make our homes,
and poisoned more water,
than we have known.
We've filled our pockets,
at her expense,
and she asks nothing,
in recompense.
She has been used, abused
and yet we refuse,
to protect the source of our very lives,
and instead force wealth from her until we die.
We pollute her with our cars and planes,
but traverse her with them to win us fame.
So when you ask someone what they would change,
the answer should always be the same.
To repair the damage we have created,
and fairly use her,
so we aren't fated,
to doom ourselves and our future.
