Change Your Mind

It is a fool

That is so blinded by its own self hate

That when love falls at its feet

It stares at it

Mouth agape

As if to say

How dare you

It is a fool

Who can’t see past the skin

The one who forgives everyone else’s sins

Yet damns them self to hell

It is a fool

That wastes all its dreams

Of all of the

Unattainable things

Cries and weeps

When they disappear

All because

A new day has appeared

As if it could be prevented

It is a fool

Who basks in pity

For things it cannot change

Keeps holding on

For that one day

Maybe

One day

The fool will no longer

Bask in self torture

And choose to look ahead

Because

It is a fool

Who doesn’t realize

It makes its own bed
