Changed Course
Most students hate going to school.
But, why?
What is so bad about a place that is educating them.
Preparing them.
School wouldn’t be bad if it were actually doing these things.
Preparing us.
Educating us.
No, school might be enjoyable otherwise.
School, however, has changed course.
No longer, is it a ship smooth sailing.
No, the wind has blown.
Drifting further and further from the intended path.
Priorities have shifted.
Schools are not preparing us.
Educating us.
They instead are wasting our time.
When did school become more about the grades you get
than the information you learn.
The information you comprehend.
The information we remember and apply.
The school isn’t worried about our future.
They worry about our grades.
They worry about the funding they will get.
School stopped being about education a long time ago.
