Changes of a Flower
I am a flower that grows. Water me with information, love me with sunlight and influence me with the soil that is solid for my growth. I was not warned that there would be days of droughts, loss of friends and seeing videos of those my aged gunned down in the street. How am i supposed to grow if yall trying to send me to heavens door. I want to live too, isn't that why I call those boys in blue? I wasnt told that no matter what i did i was wrong, two strikes before i even came up to the plate that I call life. Swing and miss I end up dead in a ditch. How do you explain to your son that this life aint fair, " Lower down your voice, hand on the wheel but dont hold it too tight, don't make too much eye contact son just be smart, keep yourself mellow jsut trust me and you will be home". But what if I do it all right and I still turn out dead? What will you say when the judge aquits him of charges? These questions I have to think about everytime I leave the house. But I'm just a flower trying to grow, teach me something so that I know. I know to be slow to anger, stay out of the way, don't make things more difficult than it should be, and just make it home to so you wont mourn for me. I am a flower that grows, that information you given me I will suck up, the love you give me will be enough light for me to shine, and the ground you put me in will allow me to flourish and live to see another day.
